How electric cars are more about cars than addressing climate change, but we should still do it anyway

  1. For a person who has lived in cities with bad traffic (Lagos, Austin, Birmingham) LAs traffic still does a number on me. My anxiety levels rise to a terrible point when I’m sitting in LA traffic trying to get from point A to the airport with a flight that is scheduled for less than 2 hours time. And some people live this daily, I think as I sweat in the back seat of a Lyft.

  2. The conflict between addressing car emissions and the broader issue of climate change. Recognizing the limited scope of electric cars in the grander scheme, yet understanding their vital role.

  3. Los Angeles is the leading city for electric vehicle adoption in the U.S. As of 2019, the Los Angeles metropolitan area had over 250,000 registered electric vehicles, representing a significant portion of the total EVs in the country. 4. Cruising the sprawling boulevards of Los Angeles, one cannot overlook its emblematic car culture. From roaring gas-guzzlers to silent electric prowlers, LA's streets narrate automotive evolution against a backdrop of persistent environmental challenges. The city, renowned for Hollywood dreams, now dreams of clear skies and cleaner rides. Imagining a future LA with Solar-powered "e-lanes", exclusively for electric vehicles, not only alleviates traffic but marks a step towards environmental redemption, offering a vision where progress coexists with preservation.
